Two months ago, WWE officially relaunched the Evolve brand under its umbrella, broadcasting weekly on Tubi in the United States and globally via YouTube. With the relaunch came a renewed focus on spotlighting emerging talent from NXT, the WWE Performance Center, and the WWE International Development (ID) program. Since its return, WWE Evolve has quickly established itself as the proving ground for the next generation of WWE Superstars.
On the May 7, 2025, episode of Evolve, brand authority figure Stevie Turner—self-styled as the “Prime Minister of Evolve”—opened the show with a town hall address that would shape the future of the brand. During the segment, Turner announced the introduction of both the Evolve Men’s and Women’s Championships, with the inaugural titleholders to be decided in separate Fatal Four-Way Elimination Matches.
Turner immediately revealed three of the four competitors set to compete in the women’s championship match: formidable amateur wrestler Kendal Grey, the “Sleepy Psycho” Wendy Choo, and rising powerhouse Kali Armstrong. The fourth and final spot would be determined in a high-stakes play-in Fatal Four-Way match in the following weeks.
That opportunity was seized by Kylie Rae, who scored her first win in Evolve to secure her place in the historic title bout. With the field set, anticipation built to a fever pitch leading into tonight’s main event on the May 28 edition of WWE Evolve.
The championship match—Kali Armstrong vs. Kendal Grey vs. Wendy Choo vs. Kylie Rae—delivered everything fans hoped for: intensity, drama, and career-defining moments. Rae entered the match with something to prove and made an immediate impact, scoring the first two eliminations, including a decisive pin over her recent rival Wendy Choo.
But in the end, the spotlight belonged to Kali Armstrong. The Inglewood native stood tall after an electrifying final exchange with Kylie Rae, ultimately putting her away to etch her name into WWE history as the first-ever WWE Evolve Women’s Champion.
Tonight’s victory is more than a personal milestone for Armstrong—it signals the beginning of a new era for WWE Evolve and women’s wrestling. With a fierce new champion at the helm, the future of the brand looks brighter than ever.
Next week’s episode will see Edris Enofe vs Sean Legacy vs Keanu Carver vs Jackson Drake in a fatal four way elimination match to determine the inaugural WWE Evolve Champion.
You can stream WWE Evolve every Wednesday 8/7c on Tubi in the United States and globally on YouTube.
