TNA iMPACT! April 2nd, 2026 Results & Recap: Eddie Edwards Pins Mike Santana Again, Arianna Grace Retains in Historic Main Event

Last night’s TNA iMPACT! had a lot to accomplish coming out of Sacrifice, and the show spent almost the entire two hours putting the Rebellion board into place. Mike Santana opened the night with the weight of the world title on his shoulders, only for the usual mix of rivals, factions, and unfinished business to pull the spotlight in several directions at once. By the end of last night’s show, Eddie Edwards had pinned the world champion for the second straight week, Arianna Grace had escaped with the Knockouts World Championship in the first women’s main event of the AMC era, AJ Francis had revealed himself as Nic Nemeth’s attacker, and Tessa Blanchard had survived the kind of violent fight that changed the tone of the episode. It was a consequential night with real movement as the road to Rebellion came into sharper focus.

Here are the full results

  • The System & Order 4 def. TNA World Champion Mike Santana, Moose, TNA International Champion Trey Miguel & TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater
  • Tessa Blanchard def. Jody Threat (Bunkhouse Match)
  • AJ Francis def. Home Town Man
  • Arianna Grace (c) def. Xia Brookside (TNA Knockouts World Championship)

Breakdown & Reactions

Last night’s show opened with Mike Santana addressing Eddie Edwards and the TNA World Championship before Leon Slater, Cedric Alexander, Mustafa Ali, Trey Miguel, Moose, and Agent Zero all became part of the segment, leading Santino Marella to make an eight-man tag. The match gave the show an immediate burst of energy and ended with the biggest story beat TNA needed most, as Edwards pinned Santana again with the Boston Knee Party to add even more pressure to the Rebellion world title match.

The Hardys also appeared last night to respond to The Righteous following the betrayal at Sacrifice. Matt Hardy’s delivery continued to hint at something darker under the surface, while Vincent and Dutch refused to fight right away and instead pushed the confrontation to next week.

Tessa Blanchard and Jody Threat then delivered the most violent match on the show in the first women’s Bunkhouse Match. The bout was filled with weapons, chaos, and a nasty edge from start to finish, with Tessa ultimately choking Jody out to score the win. The story did not end there, as Father James Mitchell appeared in the closing supernatural coda and welcomed Tessa to the Undead Realm.

AJ Francis later defeated Home Town Man, but the bigger development came after the bell when Francis revealed that he was the mystery attacker who took out Nic Nemeth, locking in the direction for their Rebellion showdown.

In the main event, Arianna Grace defended the TNA Knockouts World Championship against Xia Brookside in the first women’s main event of the AMC era. Xia pushed the champion and looked close to breaking through, but Grace once again found a way to survive, using interference and opportunism to retain. With the win, Grace now moves on to Lei Ying Lee at Rebellion.

That opening stretch built around Santana, Edwards, and the eight-man tag was the biggest talking point from last night’s show. It was strong, fast-paced television and did what it needed to do in terms of results, but it also felt like another example of TNA folding too many stories into one segment. Leon Slater and Cedric Alexander kept the X-Division scene active, Ali and Order 4 stayed in the mix, Moose had his presence felt, and Santana vs. Edwards still got its crucial finish. It all worked, but the world title story once again had to share space instead of standing on its own.

That same tension continues to follow The System. The faction clearly has a purpose heading into Rebellion, with members spread across the biggest matches on the card, but there is still a difference between being central to the booking and actually feeling essential to the energy of the show. Last night reinforced that problem again. The System is everywhere, but not everything they touch feels hotter because of it. By comparison, Mustafa Ali and Order 4 still feel like a group TNA could be doing more with.

The Hardys and The Righteous also remain a mixed bag. The betrayal at Sacrifice gave the feud a fresh jolt, and last night’s promo kept the issue alive, but the real point of intrigue continues to be Matt Hardy himself. The strongest part of the segment was the continued teasing that Matt is slipping closer to Broken Matt again.

The clearest standout from last night’s show was Tessa Blanchard vs. Jody Threat. The first women’s Bunkhouse Match had real identity, real violence, and a finish that made the match feel important. Tessa did not just beat Jody. She had to choke the fight out of her. That made the match feel like a statement, and the Undead Realm ending gave it even more significance by pushing Tessa into a darker storyline immediately after the bell.

AJ Francis revealing himself as Nic Nemeth’s attacker was straightforward, but it did what it needed to do. It gave the mystery a payoff, gave Rebellion another match with a clear direction, and kept the middle of the card moving.

The women’s side of the show came off sharper than anything else last night. Arianna Grace vs. Xia Brookside had the distinction of being the first women’s main event of the AMC era, and the match felt like it mattered because of that. Xia came across like a believable challenger, Grace stayed true to the identity of her reign, and the Knockouts title scene left the night with a very clear next step in Lei Ying Lee.

Final thoughts

Last night’s TNA iMPACT! delivered an important episode on the road to Rebellion. It gave the card more definition, gave the Knockouts division a meaningful spotlight, and put another layer of credibility behind Eddie Edwards as Santana’s challenger. The women’s division came out of last night’s show feeling sharper, the world title feud came out with a stronger hook, and Rebellion now looks fuller than it did a week ago.
