AEW Dynamite July 16th, 2025 Preview: Hangman Era Begins, Toni Storm Speaks, and Chaos Reigns as AEW Takes Over Chicago

All Elite Wrestling storms into the Windy City tonight for the first stop of its month-long Chicago residency, and the timing couldn’t be more explosive. Just four days removed from the unforgettable spectacle that was AEW All In: Texas, the fallout from that record-breaking night detonates live at the Aragon Ballroom as new champions rise, rivalries reignite, and the future of AEW begins to take shape. After a war for the ages, “Hangman” Adam Page stands tall as the new AEW World Champion, having conquered Jon Moxley in a blood-soaked Texas Deathmatch with unexpected help from returning allies Bryan Danielson and Darby Allin. The ripple effect of that chaos carries directly into tonight’s main event, where Hangman teams with Mark Briscoe and Powerhouse Hobbs to battle The Death Riders—Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta—in what promises to be a combustible trios clash. Meanwhile, after toppling Mercedes Moné at All In, “Timeless” Toni Storm is set to deliver her victory speech to the Chicago faithful, addressing the AEW Women’s Division and her reign as champion. With MJF and Athena earning title shots by winning their respective Casino Gauntlets, Kazuchika Okada unifying the Continental and International titles by defeating Kenny Omega, Dustin Rhodes capturing the TNT Championship at 56 years old, and The Young Bucks stripped of EVP status after losing to Swerve and Ospreay, the very foundation of AEW has shifted. And now, as the Chicago residency begins, Dynamite becomes the front line in AEW’s next chapter—fueled by betrayal, redemption, reinvention, and the battle for control.
