Major League Wrestling returns home to Charleston tonight as Fusion continues FantasticaMania USA with a Chucktown Throwdown built around the MLW World Heavyweight Championship, unfinished business in the women’s division and several stories that can no longer survive on vague warnings and promises of future violence.
Killer Kross and Satoshi Kojima will meet face-to-face to officially sign the contract for their upcoming MLW World Heavyweight Championship match. ZAMAYA and Priscilla Kelly renew their rivalry in a grudge match, LaBron Kozone receives his most demanding test since arriving in MLW against Andrew Everett, and Glasgow Boys On Top address a locker room already crowded with dangerous factions.
Tonight will also bring breaking news regarding the MLW World Middleweight Championship following KUSHIDA’s attack on Templario, while Big Damo steps forward as the newest soldier in The Serpent’s expanding CONTRA Unit crusade. Matt Riddle has also been teased to cross paths with one of The Skyscrapers, potentially giving the reigning World Tag Team Champions another problem after the chaotic return of Bishop Dyer.
On paper, tonight is not as deep inside the ring as last week’s episode. Only two matches have been officially announced, leaving a large portion of the broadcast dependent on contract signings, faction statements and promised developments. That can still produce an important episode, but MLW must provide actual progression instead of stretching every mystery into another week.

Last Week’s Fusion Changed CONTRA Unit and The Skyscrapers
Last week’s Fusion opened with KUSHIDA defending the MLW World Middleweight Championship against Templario, Taiji Ishimori and Alan Angels in the strongest wrestling match of the episode.
The four-way successfully brought together four different approaches without making the match feel like a collection of wrestlers waiting for their turn. KUSHIDA brought technical precision and the calculating instincts that have defined his CONTRA transformation. Templario combined lucha libre movement with enough power to control the smaller competitors. Ishimori entered exchanges with explosive speed, while Angels repeatedly forced himself into a championship conversation that appeared to belong to the three international names surrounding him.
KUSHIDA ultimately retained by catching Angels in a hammerlock cradle after the champion initially attempted to use the ropes for leverage. The finish protected Templario and Ishimori while allowing KUSHIDA to survive without decisively proving he was better than every challenger.
What happened afterward was considerably more important.
Templario offered KUSHIDA a handshake, but the champion attacked him and removed his mask. The act turned a competitive championship defense into a personal attack on Templario’s identity and everything he represents as a CMLL luchador.
KUSHIDA did not just cheat to preserve his championship. He humiliated an international rival after the match was already over. That gives MLW a straightforward singles program between KUSHIDA and Templario without needing to invent another reason for the former champion to receive a title opportunity.
The opening match was given fewer than nine minutes, which limited how far the four wrestlers could take the international showcase. Ishimori especially felt like a major name passing through the match instead of receiving enough time to make his presence matter. Still, the combination of KUSHIDA’s retention and the post-match mask theft gave the division a clear direction coming out of FantasticaMania USA.
Shotzi Blackheart’s Graveyard Shift also moved the MLW Women’s World Featherweight Championship picture forward.
Scarlett Bordeaux entered the segment intending to challenge Shotzi, but Lady Frost interrupted before Scarlett could claim the champion’s complete attention. Shotzi accepted both challenges, apparently moving the division toward a three-way championship match.
The segment efficiently established two contenders, but efficiency is not the same thing as depth. Scarlett wants the championship. Lady Frost wants the championship. Shotzi is confident enough to face them both. That is a functional setup, but another confrontation is needed to make the rivalry feel personal rather than administrative.
Místico later offered Diego Hill an important opportunity following Hill’s unsuccessful challenge for Austin Aries’ MLW National Openweight Championship. Místico invited the young prospect to accompany him to Mexico, giving Hill a believable path toward rebuilding himself instead of immediately returning to the same position after losing to Aries.
Trevor Lee was also attacked backstage by an unidentified person. Because Lee is the inaugural MLW Southern Crown Champion, the attack should lead directly to his first meaningful championship program. MLW cannot allow the mystery to drift for weeks without evidence, suspects or consequences. A new championship needs activity, not another unresolved backstage attack added to a growing pile of teases.
LaBron Kozone continued his rise by defeating SoFly Manny Lo with the Ball Game lariat. The victory maintained Kozone’s momentum, but it was another controlled showcase against an opponent who was never presented as a serious threat.
Kozone has now demonstrated that he can overpower wrestlers beneath him in MLW’s hierarchy. Tonight’s match with Andrew Everett must begin showing what happens when Kozone cannot immediately dictate the pace.
Killer Kross also accepted Satoshi Kojima’s challenge for the MLW World Heavyweight Championship. The acceptance was direct and avoided overcomplicating a program that already has a clear foundation. Kojima wants another opportunity to prove that his experience and fighting spirit still belong at the top of MLW. Kross sees another respected name whose legacy can be added to his reign.
The largest developments came during the six-man main event.
Mads Krule Krügger and The Good Brothers entered expecting to face Donovan Dijak and Josh Bishop with a numerical advantage. Instead, Bishop Dyer made his shocking return, reunited with The Skyscrapers and transformed the advertised handicap match into a six-man tag team fight.
Dyer’s return worked as a surprise, but it also exposed the awkwardness created by MLW’s tape-delayed presentation. His contract situation had been treated as a major threat to the future of The Skyscrapers, only for him to suddenly return beside Dijak and Josh Bishop.
MLW must now explain whether Dyer has fully resolved his issues with the promotion, whether all three men are recognized as World Tag Team Champions and what Dyer’s return means for Josh Bishop’s position. A surprise pop is not a complete story.
Before the match could settle into its closing stretch, Big Damo arrived and attacked Krügger. The two monsters fought away from ringside, leaving The Good Brothers without their partner.
Dijak eventually rolled up Doc Gallows while using the ropes and receiving assistance from Josh Bishop. The Skyscrapers needed Dyer’s surprise return, Damo’s attack on Krügger, outside assistance and illegal leverage to escape with the victory.
That finish preserved The Good Brothers and continued presenting The Skyscrapers as opportunistic champions, but the main event was overloaded. Dyer returned, Damo debuted, Krügger was attacked, the champions cheated and multiple faction relationships changed inside one short match.
MLW created several future directions, but it sacrificed the match happening in front of the audience to introduce all of them at once.
Tonight must begin turning those surprises into something coherent.
Killer Kross and Satoshi Kojima Contract Signing
Killer Kross and Satoshi Kojima will make their MLW World Heavyweight Championship match official tonight with a FantasticaMania USA contract signing.
The contrast between them remains simple enough to work.
Kojima represents longevity, honor, toughness and the belief that a veteran can still force his way into championship relevance. Kross represents intimidation, manipulation and a champion who views every challenger as another example of his inevitability.
Kojima’s recent appearances have focused heavily on his personality, his connection with Charleston and his familiar love of bread. Those segments have made him likable, but likability alone will not make him feel like a legitimate threat to Kross.
Tonight needs to restore the dangerous side of Kojima.
He is not challenging for the World Heavyweight Championship because he is a respected guest enjoying Charleston. He is challenging because he believes his lariat can still put down the most dangerous champion in MLW.
Kross should control the verbal portion of the segment. His strongest presentations come when he remains calm enough to make violence feel inevitable rather than spending the entire segment shouting. Kojima does not need to match Kross word for word. He needs one moment where he refuses to be intimidated and makes the champion understand that experience has removed his fear.
Contract signings are among the easiest wrestling segments to make predictable. Two wrestlers exchange threats, someone flips a table, security runs into the ring and the show pretends the expected brawl was shocking.
MLW needs more than that tonight.
Kross and Kojima should leave the segment with a clearer personal conflict, an official championship date and a reason for viewers to believe the challenger can actually win. Another generic pull-apart would create noise without strengthening the match.
Kojima’s legacy gives the championship program credibility. Tonight must give it urgency.
ZAMAYA vs. Priscilla Kelly — Grudge Match
ZAMAYA and Priscilla Kelly meet again tonight after their first match on June 27 ended with ZAMAYA scoring a decisive victory with the Choke Bomb.
That original match succeeded at presenting ZAMAYA as a major physical threat, but it was too short to become the competitive fight Kelly was capable of delivering. Kelly produced brief bursts of offense before the structure returned to ZAMAYA’s power and the result everyone expected.
It felt like a showcase rather than a grudge match.
Tonight is MLW’s opportunity to correct that.
Kelly cannot wrestle the same match and expect a different result. She needs to attack before ZAMAYA can establish control, force her into uncomfortable situations and turn the match into the ugly fight MLW has advertised.
ZAMAYA should continue using her size and power, but she also needs to show more than dominance over short stretches. A performer being promoted as part of MLW’s new generation must eventually demonstrate that she can adjust when an opponent survives her initial offense.
A second decisive ZAMAYA victory would continue her rise, but another brief match would leave Kelly looking like a recognizable name being used to make someone else important. Kelly is too experienced and too distinctive to remain trapped in that role.
The result should also matter to the MLW Women’s World Featherweight Championship picture.
Shotzi Blackheart already has Scarlett Bordeaux and Lady Frost approaching her title. The winner tonight should have a direct argument for entering that conversation once the expected three-way championship situation is resolved.
ZAMAYA defeating Kelly again would establish her as one of the division’s strongest rising contenders. Kelly winning would prove the first result did not settle their rivalry and likely force a deciding match.
Either direction can work. What cannot happen is another inconclusive finish followed by MLW simply announcing that the bad blood remains unresolved.
LaBron Kozone vs. Andrew Everett
LaBron Kozone’s development reaches an important stage tonight when he faces Andrew Everett.
Kozone has already defeated Alan Angels, Okumura and SoFly Manny Lo. Those victories have established his power, explosiveness and Ball Game lariat, but MLW has carefully controlled each step of his progression.
Everett presents a different challenge because he can force Kozone to work at a pace the powerhouse does not control.
Everett’s speed, aerial offense and creativity can make Kozone turn, chase and react. The self-proclaimed giant may not possess Kozone’s size, but he understands how to use movement and timing to make stronger opponents fight his kind of match.
That is exactly what Kozone needs.
Another two-minute victory would add a name to his record without revealing anything new about him. Kozone must be forced to sell, recover and create the opening for his lariat rather than waiting for an opponent to run directly into it.
Everett should not be treated like another disposable obstacle. He has enough experience to recognize Kozone’s weaknesses, and the match will become more valuable if viewers believe Everett has a legitimate chance to derail the prospect’s momentum.
Kozone remains one of the more promising pieces of MLW’s new-generation initiative. Teddy Long endorsed him. Kojima helped refine his lariat. The promotion has consistently told the audience that Kozone represents its future.
Tonight is where he must begin proving it in something closer to a complete match.
Matt Riddle Steps Into the Path of a Skyscraper
MLW has teased Matt Riddle crossing paths with a member of The Skyscrapers tonight, although the promotion has not officially identified his opponent or announced a match.
The vagueness creates intrigue, but it also places more responsibility on the eventual reveal.
Dijak, Bishop Dyer and Josh Bishop are surrounded by unresolved questions following last week’s main event. Riddle entering their orbit could create a major singles match, pull him into the World Tag Team Championship story or provide the former MLW World Heavyweight Champion with a new direction after his issues with Alex Hammerstone and Trevor Lee.
Dijak would be the most substantial opponent because his size, athleticism and established position make him a natural physical contrast for Riddle. Dyer’s return makes him another possibility, while Josh Bishop could use a singles match with Riddle to establish his individual credibility beyond replacing Dyer.
Regardless of which Skyscraper confronts him, MLW needs to attach consequences to the interaction.
Riddle has already spent too much time moving between major names without a stable destination. The Skyscrapers also have enough enemies without collecting another confrontation that disappears after one episode.
Tonight should reveal the opponent, the reason for the conflict and what either man gains by winning.
Breaking News on the MLW World Middleweight Championship
MLW has promised major news regarding the World Middleweight Championship following KUSHIDA’s successful four-way defense.
The most obvious direction is a singles rematch between KUSHIDA and Templario.
KUSHIDA defeated Templario for the championship at Battle RIOT VIII, retained without pinning him last week and then stole his mask after the bell. MLW does not need to manufacture another contender when the champion has already created a personal enemy.
Templario now has reasons connected to both competition and pride. He wants the championship back, but he also wants revenge for an attack designed to humiliate him in front of an international audience.
A singles match would allow KUSHIDA and Templario to develop the technical and physical exchanges that last week’s short four-way could only introduce. It would also give the FantasticaMania USA presentation a direct MLW-versus-CMLL championship story instead of another random collection of visiting talent.
Titán remains another possible contender after defeating Magnus, while Taiji Ishimori left last week’s four-way without being pinned. Alan Angels could also argue that KUSHIDA caught him through opportunism rather than complete control.
The division has options. What it needs is clarity.
“Breaking news” cannot amount to another announcement that an announcement is coming. MLW should leave tonight with a confirmed challenger, match or stipulation.
KUSHIDA stealing Templario’s mask was too significant to become background material.
Big Damo Becomes CONTRA Unit’s Newest Soldier
Big Damo’s arrival gave The Serpent a physical weapon capable of confronting Mads Krule Krügger without being immediately overwhelmed.
That makes Damo a logical addition to CONTRA Unit.
Krügger has been presented as the monster the faction could no longer control. Damo is now positioned as the beast sent to destroy him. The visual and physical compatibility of that rivalry is obvious.
Tonight must explain more than the surface-level idea.
Who recruited Damo? Does he answer directly to The Serpent? Was his only assignment to remove Krügger from last week’s match, or is he now responsible for hunting him throughout MLW?
CONTRA Unit currently contains several dangerous pieces, but the group’s hierarchy has become increasingly difficult to follow. KUSHIDA holds the Middleweight Championship. Ikuro Kwon remains active. New soldiers have appeared. The Serpent continues speaking from the shadows.
The faction has expanded without becoming clearer.
A returning or newly revealed leader could fix that problem, but MLW cannot keep asking the audience to invest in silhouettes, interrupted broadcasts and cryptic warnings without delivering meaningful answers.
Damo’s arrival should move The Serpent story forward. It should not become another layer placed on top of the mystery.
The eventual Damo-Krügger confrontation has the potential to become one of MLW’s strongest heavyweight fights. Both men are capable of making the conflict look violent without requiring an overly complicated explanation.
CONTRA sent a monster. Krügger wants to destroy the organization he escaped. That is enough.
Glasgow Boys On Top Address the MLW Locker Room
Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey and Wolfgang will address the MLW locker room tonight as Glasgow Boys On Top continue establishing themselves in the promotion.
The trio enters at an interesting time.
The Skyscrapers remain World Tag Team Champions, The Good Brothers are pursuing them, CONTRA Unit is rebuilding, Krügger is fighting his former faction and several teams are being dragged into the same expanding conflict.
Glasgow Boys On Top can immediately add depth to the tag and trios divisions. Joe Coffey brings the strongest singles presence, Mark Coffey provides experience and structure, and Wolfgang gives the group another physical heavyweight capable of matching MLW’s larger competitors.
What they do not need is another generic arrival promo.
The locker room has already heard enough factions say they are dangerous, that they came to take over and that everyone else should be afraid. Those statements become interchangeable when no specific target follows them.
Glasgow Boys On Top should identify who they want.
Calling out The Skyscrapers would immediately place them near the championships. Confronting The Good Brothers would establish which veteran team has the stronger claim to the division. Targeting CONTRA would move them directly into MLW’s largest faction war.
The group has the talent and credibility to matter immediately. Tonight should provide a destination instead of another warning.
Final Thoughts
Tonight’s Fusion has several important stories but a noticeably lighter announced match lineup than last week.
ZAMAYA against Priscilla Kelly carries the most established in-ring history. Their first match established ZAMAYA’s dominance without fully using Kelly, and tonight must feel like an actual escalation rather than the same showcase with a grudge-match label attached.
Kozone against Everett has the strongest potential to reveal something new. Kozone does not need another effortless victory. He needs an opponent who forces him to work through difficulty and makes the audience understand why MLW has invested so heavily in him.
The Kross-Kojima contract signing is the most important segment because it represents the next direction of the MLW World Heavyweight Championship. Kojima’s history gives the match credibility, but tonight must transform respect into conflict. Kross needs a challenger, not a visiting legend.
Everything surrounding CONTRA Unit remains both interesting and dangerously crowded. Damo’s arrival, KUSHIDA’s championship, The Serpent’s mystery and Krügger’s rebellion are all connected, but MLW must begin organizing those ideas into identifiable rivalries.
Last week’s main event attempted to advance everything at once and gave nothing enough room to become the complete focus. Tonight should slow down, explain the consequences of Dyer and Damo returning and establish exactly where the Skyscrapers, Krügger and CONTRA go next.
The episode’s biggest challenge is turning promises into progression.
The Middleweight Championship announcement must reveal something substantial. Glasgow Boys On Top need a target. The Riddle-Skyscraper tease needs an opponent and purpose. Damo’s recruitment needs an explanation.
MLW has created enough intrigue. Tonight is the time to begin paying some of it off.
