WWE taped the August 28, 2026 edition of Friday Night SmackDown tonight following Monday Night RAW at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario. The taped episode continues several of SmackDown’s biggest ongoing stories while also setting up additional matches and developments heading toward WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event on September 6.
Fightful was the first wrestling outlet to publish the full spoilers from tonight’s SmackDown taping. As with any taped WWE show, segments can be edited, reordered or removed before Friday’s broadcast.

- Kevin Owens opens SmackDown with a promo. Undisputed WWE Champion CM Punk interrupts, with Nick Aldis, GUNTHER and Finn Bálor also becoming involved in the segment.
- Chelsea Green and Tiffany Stratton have a segment before teaming together later in the show.
- Nia Jax and Lash Legend defeat Chelsea Green and Tiffany Stratton. Chelsea’s injury is reportedly worked into the match, and Nia scores the pinfall victory.
- Nick Aldis and Danhausen appear in a backstage segment involving GUNTHER.
- Jacy Jayne defeats Paige in singles competition.
- Nikki Bella appears following Paige vs. Jacy Jayne and continues her issue with Paige.
- Cody Rhodes and Finn Bálor are involved in a promo segment, with Randy Orton also becoming involved.
- Trick Williams and Lil Yachty appear together, with United States Champion Baron Corbin joining the segment ahead of Yachty’s five-minute challenge against Corbin at Sunday Night’s Main Event.
- Cody Rhodes receives another featured promo/interview segment as WWE continues building his match against Randy Orton on September 6.
- Tatum Paxley is interviewed, with Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss also involved.
- Rey Fenix has an interview segment involving Ricky Saints.
