Kenny Omega vs. Kazuchika Okada Set for AEW All In: Texas in Winner Takes All Match for Newly Revealed AEW Unified Championship

A rivalry that helped shape the modern era of professional wrestling is about to write its most definitive chapter yet. AEW has officially announced that on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at AEW All In: Texas, Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada will collide in a Winner Takes All match for the brand-new AEW Unified Championship—a title that was revealed live on tonight’s AEW Summer Blockbuster by legendary announcer Tony Schiavone during the official contract signing.

This match not only reunites two of wrestling’s greatest storytellers—it raises the stakes to an all-time high. Both the AEW International Championship (held by Omega) and the AEW Continental Championship (held by Okada) will be retired and unified, with the winner walking away as the first-ever Unified Champion in AEW history.

The roots of Omega vs. Okada trace back to New Japan Pro-Wrestling, where their series of four matches between 2017 and 2018 redefined excellence in the sport:

  • Their first bout at Wrestle Kingdom 11 received a groundbreaking six-star rating.
  • A 60-minute draw at Dominion 6.11 further intensified their feud.
  • And at Dominion 6.9 (2018), Omega finally conquered Okada in a two-out-of-three falls masterpiece to capture the IWGP Heavyweight Title, ending Okada’s historic 720-day reign.

These bouts weren’t just matches—they were generational touchstones that elevated NJPW and global wrestling storytelling to new heights.

Years later, both men have become cornerstones of AEW’s main event scene. Omega, revitalized and determined, has held the International Championship since Revolution 2025, notching big-time defenses against the likes of Jay White, Andrade El Idolo, and PAC.

Okada, who shocked the wrestling world when he became AEW Continental Champion in early 2024, has held onto the title with iron grip, racking up 12 dominant defenses. Now aligned with Don Callis, Okada has leaned into a more violent, ruthless persona—one that has made his upcoming clash with Omega all the more volatile.

During tonight’s AEW Summer Blockbuster, fans witnessed a tense, highly anticipated contract signing between Omega and Okada. It was in that moment that Tony Schiavone unveiled the newly created AEW Unified Championship belt.

The design drew immediate fanfare—sleek and modern, yet classic in its homage to both men’s legacies, with custom side plates representing Omega’s One-Winged Angel and Okada’s Rainmaker.

However, the formality quickly devolved into violence. Okada, with Callis at his side, struck Omega down with the Continental title and a concealed baton before the contract was even signed. The scene ended with a bloodied Omega being stretchered out, and Okada standing tall, raising both titles—and the newly revealed Unified Championship—above his head.

Set to take place at Globe Life Field in Arlington, AEW All In: Texas will mark the first one-on-one meeting between Omega and Okada since 2018. But this isn’t just a reunion—it’s the high-stakes culmination of an eight-year odyssey that has spanned Japan, North America, and the world.

With the AEW Unified Championship on the line, the winner will not only claim championship gold, but cement their legacy as the definitive face of this generation’s wrestling revolution.

AEW has promised a main event unlike any before, and it’s easy to see why. With history, emotion, and hardware all on the line, All In: Texas won’t just crown a new champion—it will crown an era.
