The green-haired renegade is back and looking for chaos.
Former WWE superstar Shotzi is officially heading to Major League Wrestling (MLW), making her debut at the upcoming “Summer of the Beasts” event, streaming live and free on YouTube this Thursday, June 26, from the Melrose Ballroom in New York City.
Shotzi’s appearance marks one of the most high-profile MLW debuts in recent memory, and it comes at a time when the MLW Featherweight Division is primed for disruption.
Shotzi’s time in WWE was a wild ride from the moment she was signed in 2019 following her standout performances in EVOLVE and SHIMMER. Originally arriving in NXT with her signature tank, punk-rock aesthetic, and death-defying offense, Shotzi quickly gained a loyal fanbase. She held the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Ember Moon before being called up to the main roster in 2021.
While her main roster tenure included highlight matches and memorable feuds, including brief tag runs and a solo heel turn in 2022, creative inconsistencies and injuries plagued her momentum. After several months off television and failed reintegration attempts in 2024, WWE officially released Shotzi in early 2025, ending a five-year tenure that had flashes of brilliance but was ultimately underutilized.
Since her release, Shotzi has reignited her indie roots, appearing in GCW — reminding the world of the hardcore daredevil that first turned heads. Her matches against the likes of Atticus Cogar, Jimmy Lloyd, and Matt Tremont have reestablished her as a dynamic performer with no fear and no filter.
Shotzi’s MLW arrival is more than just a cameo — it’s a warning shot to the entire Featherweight Division.
MLW launched its women’s division in 2021 with a vision of showcasing global, hybrid-style competition. Since its inception, the Featherweight division has featured top international names like Taya Valkyrie, Holidead, Delmi Exo, and the late standout Gabi Ortiz. Its centerpiece is the MLW Featherweight Championship, currently held by Japanese sensation Shoko Nakajima, who won the title earlier this year in a match-of-the-year contender.
Nakajima has defended the championship in both U.S. and Japanese promotions and is known for blending technical precision with whimsical unpredictability. But with Shotzi now in the mix, Nakajima could be staring down the division’s most volatile threat yet.
While MLW has yet to announce Shotzi’s opponent for “Summer of the Beasts,” speculation is already swirling about whether she will set her sights directly on Shoko Nakajima’s championship. Shotzi brings a unique blend of charisma, hardcore background, and a willingness to put her body on the line — elements that could create an electric clash with Nakajima’s high-speed, Joshi-inspired style.
Could a Shotzi vs. Shoko showdown be looming?
Whether she goes straight for gold or sends a message with her debut match, one thing is certain — the MLW Featherweight division will never be the same. With Shotzi now on the roster, a new era of chaos, charisma, and carnage is upon us.
Catch Shotzi’s MLW debut live and free on MLW’s official YouTube channel this Thursday, June 26, at “Summer of the Beasts,” streaming from New York City’s Melrose Ballroom.
Let the chaos commence.
