Today WWE announced a groundbreaking program which gives independent wrestlers a pathway to the company called WWEID or WWE Independent Development.
When asked about the program Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque described it as a way to support and strengthen the independent wrestling scene.
“WWE ID is the latest in our efforts to identify and support the journey of up-and-coming wrestlers, in turn raising the profile of and strengthening the independent wrestling ecosystem.”
This news comes after WWE’s NIL (Next In Line) program which began in 2021. WWEID will not only support indie wrestlers but also wrestling schools such as WWE Hall of Famer Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling.
Other schools that are part of the program is Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes’ Nightmare Factory (Atlanta, Georgia), Seth Rollins’ Black and Brave Academy (Davenport, Iowa), Elite Pro Wrestling Training (Concord, New Hampshire) and KnoxkX Pro Academy (Los Angeles, California).
Additionally WWEID will scout top independent talent and help them not only financially but give them access to world classes trainers and training facilities. WWE’s social media team will also showcase curated behind the scene moments and highlights of matches.
