This past Saturday, the City of Angels played host to a monumental WWE doubleheader, kicking off with the landmark Worlds Collide event, where the stars of WWE and Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide battled for brand supremacy just months after WWE’s historic acquisition of the AAA promotion was announced at WrestleMania 41. The interpromotional spectacle featured two star-studded trios matches, including a shocking victory for Legado Del Fantasma, and a breathtaking main event that saw AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo successfully defend his title against RAW’s own Chad Gable of American Made. Perhaps the surprise standout of the night was Mr. Iguana, who lit up the opening contest and earned the admiration of a brand-new global audience.
Later that night, Money in the Bank delivered chaos and career-altering moments that will echo through WWE for months. Naomi, making a record-tying fifth appearance in the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match, climbed the rungs of destiny to finally capture the coveted briefcase. In the men’s match, Seth Rollins survived the carnage—including the shocking betrayal of Jacob Fatu by Solo Sikoa, which cost Fatu his shot—to become Mr. Money in the Bank for a second time.
The wrestling world was rocked by the surprise return of WWE legend R-Truth, who speared Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena during the tag team main event, allowing Cody Rhodes to pin Cena and score the win for himself and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso. Adding fuel to the fire, WWE Shop dropped new merchandise labeled under Truth’s real name, Ron Killings, leaving the WWE Universe questioning whether a reinvention is on the horizon.
As if that wasn’t enough, WWE also confirmed the long-awaited return of WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella, her first appearance since entering the 2025 Royal Rumble. With WWE Evolution officially announced for next month, what message will the longest-reigning Divas Champion have for the WWE Universe and the Bella Army?
And now, as the dust settles, Monday Night RAW promises to keep the momentum rolling with a blockbuster night of action. Jey Uso will defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Gunther, the imposing Ring General. Plus, the prestigious King and Queen of the Ring Tournaments officially begin, as new paths to glory are forged.
Don’t miss a minute as WWE continues its red-hot summer stretch on the road to Night of Champions, live June 28 from Saudi Arabia.
