This weekend on Friday August 2nd and Saturday August 3rd TNA will be holding a round of taping in Tampa, Florida.
Yesterday, Friday August 2nd was the first night of the iMPACT! tapings. From some fans in attendance took some photos and we learned that multiple WWE NXT Superstars made their TNA debuts as well as former NXT Superstar Xyon Quinn.
The NXT Superstars who crossed the line as part of the NXTNA partnership are Wolfgang, Dante Chen and Riley Osbourne.
Here are the full night one (August 2nd, 2024) spoilers:
Frankie Kazarian def. Bhupinder Gujjar.
* Masha Slamovich def. Dani Luna.
* Hammerstone def. Eric Young. Steve Maclin was on commentary and interacted with Young during the match.
* The System and JDC cut a promo and Alisha said she is sick of people saying the System is a failure. Brian Myers and Eddie Edwards vowed to get the TNA World Tag Titles back and said the group’s Slammiversary losses were a fluke. Moose addressed Mike Santana and said he’s not afraid of him. He said that Santana calls himself a dog and that next week he’ll take him Santana out back and give him the Ol’ Yeller treatment.
* Santino and Mike Bailey cut a backstage promo talking about the return of Ultimate X.
* Ultimate X Qualifying Match: Mike Bailey def. Trent Seven & Jake Something.
* KUSHIDA def Jonathan Gresham.
* TNA Knockouts Open Challenge: Jordynne Grace fought Rosemary went to a no contest when Ash by Elegance came down and attacked both women.
* Josh Alexander comes to the ring and talked about how the fans turned on him when he didn’t change, it was the fans who did. He took shots at Joe Hendry, saying he isn’t a wrestler but a meme, and said he was focused on getting back his TNA World Championship back. He said that the fans will call Nemeth a transitional champion like they did in WWE. Nemeth came down to the ring, got a mic and then jabbed Alexander in the throat before hitting him with a superkick before saying he’ll defend the title next week.
* Ultimate X Qualifying Match: Zachary Wentz def. KC Navarro & Dante Chen.
* Joe Hendry def Wolfgang. Hendry cut a promo before the match and talked about Gallus attacking him last week and then hit Wolfgang in the head with a mic.
* Rhino & Sami Callihan def. First Class.
* Steve Maclin def. Xyon Quinn.
* Xia Brookside def. Mila Moore.
* Ultimate X Qualifying Match: Riley Osbourne def. Chris Bey & John Skyler.
* Gisele Shaw def, Tasha Steelz.
* The System attacked Mike Santana in the back and then came down to the ring. Alisha said Santana wasn’t cleared to face Moose, but Santana’s music hit and he came through the crowd.
* Moose def Santana. The System attacked Santana post-match until Joe Hendry made the save with a chair. Hendry said there were strength in numbers and next week two of the Systems enemies would face JDC & Moose in The Hardys.
* Ultimate X Qualifying Match: Jason Hotch def. Ace Austin & Rich Swann.
* TNA World Championship Match: Nic Nemeth and Josh Alexander fought to a 30 minute time limit. Nemeth asked for five more minutes but Alexander left the ring, so Nemeth gave chased and put him back in the ring. Alexander nailed Nemeth with a chair and hit a low blow, then asked for five more minutes and was turned down. Alexander held the title high before throwing it down and leaving. Kazarian came out to attack Nemeth but PCO and Steph DeLander made the save.
Tonight TNA will conclude this set of tapings as they continue on the road to Emergence on Friday August 30th airing on TNA Plus.
