WWE NXT July 8, 2025 Preview: Great American Bash Go-Home Show Packs High Stakes with NXT Tag Title Clash and Blockbuster TNA Crossover Match

This Tuesday night, WWE NXT delivers a can’t-miss go-home show as the brand barrels toward The Great American Bash—live this Saturday from the iconic Center Stage in Atlanta, Georgia. But the path to glory is anything but smooth. With titles up for grabs, grudges boiling over, and inter-promotional drama spilling into TNA territory, NXT is bracing for a night that could shift the course of multiple main events before the weekend even begins.

One of the most anticipated matchups heading into The Great American Bash is the NXT Championship bout, where Oba Femi, The Ruler of NXT, defends his crown against the surging international powerhouse Yoshiki Inamura. The master of sumo-inspired brute force, Inamura earned this opportunity after steamrolling through competition, including a thunderous victory over WWE LFG Season 1 winner Jasper Troy. Oba has ruled with dominant composure and unwavering authority, but this Saturday, he’ll stand across from a challenger whose sheer size and strength may finally match—if not exceed—his own. The outcome will not only shape the championship landscape but also test the resolve of a champion who has never blinked… until now.

Tonight’s show also features a heated showdown for the NXT Tag Team Championships, as Hank Walker & Tank Ledger—better known as Hank and Tank—put their titles on the line against the cold, cryptic, and dangerous duo of The Culling (Shawn Spears & Nico Vance). Hank and Tank, a blue-collar brawler duo with the grit of barroom fighters and the heart of old-school throwbacks, have held the gold since dethroning Fraxiom at Stand & Deliver in April. But their reign nearly came to a screeching halt when they were mysteriously attacked backstage two weeks ago. While the assailants were never officially revealed, the champs had no doubt who was behind it—pointing fingers directly at The Culling last week, leading to this now-sanctioned title clash. Spears and Vance, twisted prophets of destruction, have warned NXT that the tag division’s “cleansing” is coming. If they walk out with the titles tonight, that prophecy might just begin.

Meanwhile, the inter-promotional war with TNA continues to intensify. With Slammiversary set for Sunday, July 20, one of the night’s most explosive matches could have direct implications for the TNA World Championship triple threat. Challengers Joe Hendry and Mike Santana—both gunning for Trick Williams’ TNA Title—must coexist in a high-stakes tag match tonight against The High Ryze. Lee and his crew have been tearing through opposition with their signature blend of aerial chaos and street toughness. For Hendry, who thrives on showmanship and psychology, and Santana, a no-nonsense brawler with fire in his fists, this uneasy alliance could either provide crucial momentum—or implode before they ever get to New York. If tonight ends in disaster, Trick may walk into Slammiversary with the edge firmly in his favor.

Also earning spotlight tonight is Izzi Dame, who shocked many last week when she pinned Sol Ruca, the NXT North American Women’s Champion, in tag action. That upset has earned her a golden opportunity this Saturday. Known for her confidence, cunning, and cutthroat ambition, Izzi sees herself as the future face of NXT—and now she has the chance to make that reality. But Sol Ruca, one of the most innovative and athletically gifted women in all of WWE, isn’t backing down. With a championship that continues to rise in prestige, this title match is more than just a battle for gold—it’s a battle for generational supremacy.

And in a desperate fight for redemption, Ricky Saints sets his sights on reclaiming the NXT North American Championship from the egotistical and dangerous Ethan Page. But Page, ever the manipulator, has stacked the deck. Backed by the ruthless faction known as The Vanity Project, Page has turned NXT and WWE Evolve into his personal kingdom. Tonight, Saints must run a gauntlet match against every member of the Vanity Project. If he survives, he won’t just earn a shot at the title—he’ll earn the right to choose the stipulation for that future showdown. For Saints, it’s personal. For Page, it’s just business. And for NXT, it’s a collision waiting to erupt.

Also on the horizon is the massive WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Fatal 4-Way match set for WWE Evolution. With Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez defending the gold, the field is now officially locked following a major announcement last night on RAW. Joining previously confirmed SmackDown representatives Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss, two formidable teams have been added: RAW’s Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) and NXT’s rising tandem of Sol Ruca & Zaria. While Sol brings unmatched athleticism and innovation, Zaria adds a powerful new dynamic as a dominant powerhouse capable of overpowering any team in her path. With four brands represented and a volatile mix of speed, strength, and experience in the ring, this Evolution showdown could very well steal the night—and redefine the future of women’s tag team wrestling.

And speaking of Evolution, the NXT Women’s Championship match has officially been set. Jacy Jayne, the scheming, self-proclaimed savior of the NXT women’s division, will defend her title on that grand stage—but her challenger has earned every bit of the spotlight. Jordynne Grace, after defeating Lola Vice in her Evolution Eliminator Match, advanced to a fatal four-way against Lash Legend, Izzi Dame, and Jadia Parker—emerging victorious and cementing her place in the Evolution main event. Grace, a force of nature and beacon of legitimacy, now prepares to bring a fight that Jacy Jayne may not be ready for. But first, they’ll collide in tag team action at The Great American Bash, as Grace teams with NXT’s newest signee, the glamorous and powerful Blake Monroe, to take on Jacy Jayne and Fallon Henley of Fatal Influence. The match was made official last week after Monroe stormed the ring to save Grace from a two-on-one assault. The beatdown stemmed from Monroe’s own turbulent NXT arrival, which saw her contract signing violently interrupted by Fatal Influence who sent Monroe crashing through a table. Now, Monroe and Grace are out for revenge—and looking to send a message ahead of Evolution.

With championship stakes, grudge matches, and brand warfare all converging in one wild night, this week’s WWE NXT is more than just a go-home show—it’s the ignition point for a weekend of chaos, legacy, and evolution.
