Tonight at AEW Dynasty Chris Jericho defeated Hook to win the FTW Championship. This win marks only the second time in his AEW career that Jericho can call himself champion. The last time he was champion was back at AEW Revolution 2020 when he dropped the AEW World Championship to Jon Moxley.
The match just like any other FTW Championship match was contested under FTW Rules which means anything goes.
For weeks it seemed like Jericho was trying to help and guide Hook until he costed him, Hook and Katsuyori Shibata a trios match on a recent episode of AEW Dynamite.
It was during a meeting that Hook’s father, AEW Commentator Taz Brooke’s between the two when things really soured and crossed the line leading to tonight’s title match.

I’m the quiet one until the bell rings then I’ve got takes. I live for WWE NXT and TNA, I want every promotion to succeed, and I will absolutely roast the bad decisions on sight (because someone has to). Anime taught me to respect long-term storytelling; wrestling taught me that sometimes the plan is “we panicked” and called it “unpredictable.” The Miz got me into all of this, so yeah I appreciate confidence, commitment, and the art of talking like you’re already the main event. Now I bring that same energy to the page as the main writer for Late Night Crew Wrestling because if you’re not here to be must-see and tell the truth, why are you here?!
