AAA Noche De Los Grandes Week 2 June 6th, 2026 Results & Recap: La Catalina Pins Flammer As Rey Mysterio Sets The Stage For A Major AAA Mega Championship Defense At Triplemanía

AAA Noche De Los Grandes returned last night for the second and final week of its two-part special from Arena Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico. However, anyone expecting another event on the level of last week’s show was always going to walk away disappointed.

Week 1 felt like a genuine major event. Rey Fenix ended Laredo Kid’s lengthy AAA World Cruiserweight Championship reign. The War Raiders captured the AAA World Tag Team Championship from Psycho Clown and Pagano. El Hijo del Vikingo regained momentum by defeating El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. for the AAA Latin American Championship with help from The Eye That Sees Everything. Most importantly, El Grande Americano defeated Chad Gable’s “Original” El Grande Americano in a violent and emotional Mask vs. Mask Match that felt like the payoff to one of AAA’s most successful stories of the year.

Week 2 was never going to match that atmosphere. It did not try to.

Instead, AAA delivered a shorter follow-up episode built around two matches, several backstage videos recorded after last week’s event and a significant announcement from new General Manager Rey Mysterio. Lince Dorado earned an opportunity against Rey Fenix. The War Raiders and El Hijo del Vikingo addressed their championship victories. El Grande Americano thanked the fans who carried him through the biggest match of his career. Rey established a destination for the AAA Mega Championship. La Catalina ended the night by pinning AAA Reina de Reinas Champion Lady Flammer in the center of the ring.

The episode lacked the urgency and spectacle of Week 1, but it successfully moved several stories into their next chapters.

Here are the full results

  • Lince Dorado defeated Mini Vikingo, Octagón Jr., Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro in a Fatal 5-Way Match (#1 Contender’s Match for the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship)
  • La Catalina, WWE NXT Women’s & AAA Mixed Tag Team Champion Lola Vice and Bayley defeated Las Tóxicas after Catalina pinned AAA Reina de Reinas Champion Lady Flammer.

Breakdowns & Reactions

Week 1 Recap Video Package And Arrivals

The show opened with a recap of everything that happened during the first half of Noche De Los Grandes.

That was the right decision because Week 2 only works when viewed as the aftermath of last week’s show rather than an equal companion piece. The video package highlighted Rey Fenix, The War Raiders and El Hijo del Vikingo capturing championship gold before focusing on the Mask vs. Mask Match between El Grande Americano and Chad Gable’s “Original” El Grande Americano.

Last week’s main event had blood, interference, broken tables, an invested crowd and an emotional unmasking. Gable revealed his identity, acknowledged that he could not overcome the spirit of Mexico and handed his mask to the man who defeated him. It was one of the rare wrestling stories where the overbooking added to the drama instead of becoming a distraction.

The footage of Rey Mysterio, Bayley, La Catalina and Lola Vice arriving at the venue gave the episode a clean transition into the current night. Still, the contrast was obvious. Week 1 felt like a major destination. Week 2 immediately felt like the television episode after the major destination.

Lince Dorado vs. Mini Vikingo vs. Octagón Jr. vs. Joaquin Wilde vs. Cruz Del Toro

AAA World Cruiserweight Championship No. 1 Contender’s Fatal 5-Way Match

The opening match was exactly what it needed to be: fast, chaotic and entertaining without overstaying its welcome.

Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro initially worked together and attempted to use their LWO familiarity to control the match. They cleared Lince Dorado and Octagón Jr. from the ring before isolating Mini Vikingo with tandem offense. The alliance immediately began to crack when Wilde attempted to steal the victory with a roll-up on Del Toro.

Wilde apologized, extended his hand and then pulled Del Toro into a headlock. It was a simple moment, but it gave the match an actual thread instead of becoming a collection of dives and near-falls.

Octagón Jr. and Dorado returned with simultaneous superkicks. Dorado caught Mini Vikingo with a spinning backbreaker and lariat. Mini Vikingo answered with a headscissors takedown and later dropped Del Toro with a poisonrana. Wilde interrupted the ensuing pin attempt after planting Mini Vikingo with a DDT.

Wilde also found time to spray his hair into place before Octagón Jr. caught him with an enzuigiri. It was a small character moment that worked because the match was moving quickly enough that it never slowed the action.

The closing stretch centered on the tension between Wilde and Del Toro. Dorado took advantage by catching both men with a double Stunner. He avoided Wilde’s corkscrew senton, connected with a brainbuster and launched himself onto the group at ringside with a twisting dive. Dorado rolled Wilde back into the ring and finished him with a Shooting Star Press.

Lince Dorado was the correct winner. Rey Fenix does not need a complicated first challenger. He needs someone capable of matching his speed and creating an exciting championship match. Dorado has quietly built momentum and now has a meaningful opportunity.

The online reaction to the opener reflected what the match delivered. It was not treated like a major storyline development, but it gave viewers the high-flying action expected from the Cruiserweight division and established a fresh title match without wasting time.

Winner: Lince Dorado

The War Raiders Celebrate Their AAA World Tag Team Championship Victory

The first backstage video recorded after Week 1 showed Erik and Ivar celebrating their AAA World Tag Team Championship victory over Psycho Clown and Pagano.

Ivar pointed out that the War Raiders once again had championship gold around their waists. Erik made it clear that they did not care whether their next challengers came from AAA, Raw, SmackDown or NXT. They were prepared for anyone.

It was a basic promo, but it served its purpose. The War Raiders instantly give the championships credibility because they look and wrestle like a dominant team. The larger question is whether AAA can build a tag team division strong enough to make their reign matter.

The War Raiders winning the titles is a solid start. It cannot be the entire story.

El Hijo Del Vikingo And The Eye That Sees Everything Celebrate

The Eye That Sees Everything received its own backstage celebration after El Hijo del Vikingo captured the AAA Latin American Championship from El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr.

Dorian Roldán said the group’s plan was unfolding exactly as expected. Vikingo thanked Roldán and spoke about trusting his family within The Eye. Omos congratulated the new champion as the segment came to an end.

Vikingo desperately needed a stronger character direction. His athletic ability has never been the issue. He can deliver spectacular matches in his sleep. The issue was giving fans a reason to care about him beyond the next highlight clip.

Pairing him with Omos, Mini Vikingo and Roldán gives him an identity, but AAA still needs to prove that The Eye That Sees Everything is more than a collection of people standing together backstage and interfering in matches. Vikingo is the right centerpiece. The faction needs a clearer purpose and stronger opposition.

Rey Mysterio Addresses Dominik Mysterio And The AAA Mega Championship

Rey Mysterio’s backstage media interview was the most important segment of the night.

The new AAA General Manager addressed last week’s Mask vs. Mask Match and said there is now only one El Grande Americano supported by the people. He then turned his attention toward WWE’s upcoming Latin American tour and AAA’s biggest event of the year.

Rey confirmed that Dominik Mysterio will appear on AAA’s June 20th episode in Mérida. More importantly, he announced that the AAA Mega Championship will be defended during Triplemanía Night 2 in September regardless of who holds the title at that time.

The wording mattered.

Dominik currently holds the AAA Mega Championship, but Rey did not guarantee that his son will enter Triplemanía as champion. He simply guaranteed that AAA’s top championship will be defended. Rey also insisted that his personal issues with Dominik will not affect how he handles business as General Manager.

Nobody should expect Dominik to believe that.

The father-and-son dynamic gives AAA an easy story to follow heading into Triplemanía, but the company has to be careful. The AAA Mega Championship cannot become a prop in another chapter of the Mysterio family drama. Dominik is the champion. Rey is the authority figure. The title must remain the center of the story.

The announcement also gave AAA’s biggest championship a clear destination. The promotion needed that after Week 1 focused heavily on the Mask vs. Mask Match rather than its world champion.

El Grande Americano Thanks The Fans

Another backstage video showed an exhausted El Grande Americano being helped through the venue by Bravo Americano and Rayo Americano after last week’s Mask vs. Mask Match.

Americano thanked his friends, Mexico and the fans who supported him throughout the rivalry. He admitted that he struggled to find the words to describe what the victory meant to him.

AAA made the correct decision by allowing the moment to breathe.

There was no unnecessary attack. There was no forced cliffhanger. There was no attempt to immediately move Americano into another storyline before the crowd had time to process what happened. The segment allowed the emotional payoff from Week 1 to carry over without diluting it.

El Grande Americano came out of Noche De Los Grandes feeling like a genuine star. That is the result of months of commitment to the character and a crowd that fully accepted him.

La Catalina, Lola Vice And Bayley vs. Las Tóxicas

Lady Flammer, La Hiedra And Lady Maravilla

The main event had a straightforward job: give Bayley and Lola Vice meaningful roles while positioning La Catalina as the next challenger for Lady Flammer’s AAA Reina de Reinas Championship.

It accomplished that goal.

Flammer initially appeared ready to start the match against Catalina before refusing to engage and tagging Lady Maravilla into the ring. That decision immediately established the champion’s attitude toward her emerging challenger. Catalina did not need to chase Flammer throughout the match. Flammer’s avoidance did the work for her.

Catalina gained the early advantage before tagging Lola Vice into the match. Vice responded to a slap from La Hiedra with a rapid series of kicks and consecutive running hip attacks. Bayley and Catalina joined Vice inside the ring, and the three women delivered synchronized suplexes and hip attacks.

Las Tóxicas eventually isolated Vice after La Hiedra sent her into the steel steps. The group repeatedly provoked Bayley and Catalina into entering the ring, forcing the referee to turn his attention away while Vice absorbed illegal attacks in the opposing corner.

Vice finally escaped a submission hold and tagged Bayley into the match. Bayley entered with the loudest reaction of the night and immediately cleared the ring. She caught Lady Maravilla with a neckbreaker and followed with a diving elbow drop for a near-fall.

The match became chaotic during the final stretch. Vice dropped La Hiedra with a spinning backfist at ringside. Bayley caught Lady Maravilla with a Bayley-to-Belly suplex. Flammer sent Bayley to the floor with a dropkick.

That left Catalina alone with the champion.

Catalina caught Flammer with a superkick, followed with a rope-assisted hip attack and delivered a running knee strike for the victory.

The finish was the only finish that made sense. Bayley did not need to pin anyone. Lola Vice did not need to pin anyone. Catalina needed to pin Flammer.

AAA now has an obvious Reina de Reinas Championship program. Flammer has the title, Las Tóxicas have the numbers advantage and Catalina has already proven that she can beat the champion.

The social media conversation coming out of the match understandably centered on Bayley’s presence and the winning trio, but Catalina was the real story. AAA did not allow the WWE guest appearances to overshadow the wrestler who needed the victory most.

Winners: La Catalina, Lola Vice And Bayley
Grade: B+

Best Match And Segment Of The Night

Best Match: La Catalina, Lola Vice And Bayley vs. Las Tóxicas

The Fatal 5-Way Match had more athletic highlights, but the six-woman tag team match accomplished more.

It advanced the Reina de Reinas Championship picture, gave Bayley a strong crowd reaction, allowed Lola Vice to work as the isolated babyface and ended with La Catalina pinning Lady Flammer. Every important person in the match served a purpose.

Catalina defeating Flammer was the most meaningful in-ring development of Week 2.

Best Segment: Rey Mysterio Addresses Dominik Mysterio And The AAA Mega Championship

Rey Mysterio’s announcement gave AAA a clear destination for its top championship.

Dominik Mysterio will appear in Mérida on June 20th. The AAA Mega Championship will be defended at Triplemanía Night 2 in September regardless of who holds it. Rey says he will remain fair despite his issues with his son.

That is a simple foundation, but it gives AAA a story worth following over the next several months.

What Was Announced For Next Week’s Show?

AAA did not formally announce a complete lineup for next week’s episode during the broadcast.

The major upcoming announcement is that AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio will appear on the June 20th episode in Mérida. Lince Dorado has also earned a future AAA World Cruiserweight Championship opportunity against Rey Fenix, although AAA has not announced when that title match will take place.

La Catalina’s victory over Lady Flammer should also place her firmly in the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship conversation.

Final Thoughts

AAA Noche De Los Grandes Week 2 was not a bad show. It was simply not a major event.

That distinction matters because Week 1 set an extremely high standard. The Mask vs. Mask Match between El Grande Americano and Chad Gable felt important. The crowd treated it like a major moment. Three championships changed hands. The show had energy, emotion and consequences.

Week 2 lasted less than an hour and felt like a bridge episode.

The Fatal 5-Way Match was entertaining. Lince Dorado was the correct winner. The backstage videos gave The War Raiders, El Hijo del Vikingo and El Grande Americano necessary follow-up time. Rey Mysterio established the direction of the AAA Mega Championship heading toward Triplemanía. La Catalina pinning Lady Flammer created a logical Reina de Reinas Championship program.

There is value in a show that knows exactly what it needs to accomplish and gets out of the way.

The biggest issue is presentation. AAA advertised Noche De Los Grandes as a two-week event, but Week 2 felt more like the first weekly episode after Noche De Los Grandes than the second half of the event itself. With only two matches and several previously recorded backstage videos, the gap between the two weeks was impossible to ignore.

Still, AAA left the special in a stronger position than it entered.

Rey Fenix has his first challenger. The War Raiders have gold. El Hijo del Vikingo has a faction and a championship. La Catalina has pinned Lady Flammer. Dominik Mysterio’s road to Triplemanía now has a clear checkpoint.

Week 1 delivered the spectacle. Week 2 handled the cleanup.
