It was announced today by TKO Board Member and “The Final Boss” himself, The Rock via his Instagram account that former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Drew McIntyre has resigned with WWE.
According to Fightful Select who also independently confirmed the news reached out about extending McIntyre’s deal last month.
McIntyre’s contract just like many others in the future was a multi-year big money deal. His deal was set to expire within a month.
It was also confirmed by McIntyre via TikTok that he has been working through an injury since the recent UK tour. According to PWInsider it is being described as a “badly hyperextended elbow.” He was since wearing a protective cover during his matches.

I’m the quiet one until the bell rings then I’ve got takes. I live for WWE NXT and TNA, I want every promotion to succeed, and I will absolutely roast the bad decisions on sight (because someone has to). Anime taught me to respect long-term storytelling; wrestling taught me that sometimes the plan is “we panicked” and called it “unpredictable.” The Miz got me into all of this, so yeah I appreciate confidence, commitment, and the art of talking like you’re already the main event. Now I bring that same energy to the page as the main writer for Late Night Crew Wrestling because if you’re not here to be must-see and tell the truth, why are you here?!
