Former member of Sanity, NXT Tag Team and TNA World Champion, Eric Young was recently on the Sunday Night’s Main Event podcast. It was on the podcast where he revealed that he had to sign a non-disclosure agreement in order to be granted his WWE release.
NDAs have become a hot topic in the wrestling industry as of late due in part to the Vince McMahon hush money scandal back in 2022.
Young was originally released from WWE back on April 15th, 2020 along with a bunch of other talent and employees due to the pandemic. He would then return to TNA at Slammiversary that same year and would later go on to win the TNA World Championship for a second time in his career.
Young’s character would then be killed off TV in December of 2022 signaling his time in the promotion was over. This was due to the fact he had quietly resign with WWE a month prior according to Fightful Select.
Since resigning with WWE Young was never used on TV and in April of last year he was granted his release per his request.
As stated earlier Young had to sign an NDA to be granted his release. Here is what he had to say on the matter:
“I had to sign an NDA, and I’m not allowed to say names. The truth is, I don’t need to talk badly on it. It is what it is. I talked to Hunter, and he hired me back and wanted me back there, and I was. Another person came back, and I won’t work for that person. I won’t be around that person. I said that when I left there the first time, when I got fired, and I meant it. For me, there’s tons of professional reasons, but mostly it’s a personal and moral decision.”

I’m the quiet one until the bell rings then I’ve got takes. I live for WWE NXT and TNA, I want every promotion to succeed, and I will absolutely roast the bad decisions on sight (because someone has to). Anime taught me to respect long-term storytelling; wrestling taught me that sometimes the plan is “we panicked” and called it “unpredictable.” The Miz got me into all of this, so yeah I appreciate confidence, commitment, and the art of talking like you’re already the main event. Now I bring that same energy to the page as the main writer for Late Night Crew Wrestling because if you’re not here to be must-see and tell the truth, why are you here?!
