TNA Wrestling Targets Major TV Deal to Rival AEW by October

Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling is actively pursuing a significant television distribution deal, aiming to secure a contract valued between $7 million and $10 million annually. President Carlos Silva has indicated that the company is deep into media rights discussions and hopes to have a deal in place by October. This strategic move is designed to facilitate live broadcasts for up to 52 weeks a year, marking a pivotal shift towards a more expansive and consistent presence in the industry.

TNA’s current media rights negotiations are focused on securing a deal that would enable the company to broadcast live shows for up to 52 weeks a year. Silva emphasized the importance of live content in today’s media landscape, noting that live shows consistently deliver better ratings and fan engagement. The company is exploring various distribution options, including linear television networks and streaming platforms, to reach a broader audience.

In addition to television distribution, TNA is planning to expand its live event operations. Silva has outlined plans to host shows in major markets such as Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and Miami, aiming for 45 to 52 live events per year. This expansion is expected to increase the company’s visibility and fan base, positioning TNA as a more formidable competitor in the wrestling industry.

The timing of these developments coincides with AEW’s recent media rights deal with Warner Bros. Discovery, reportedly worth $185 million per year. While AEW’s deal solidifies its position in the market, TNA’s efforts to secure a substantial television distribution deal reflect its ambition to establish a stronger foothold and potentially rival AEW in the future.

TNA’s leadership remains optimistic about the prospects of finalizing a new media rights deal by October, aligning with the company’s strategic goals and the upcoming Bound For Glory pay-per-view event. The outcome of these negotiations will be pivotal in determining TNA’s trajectory in the competitive landscape of professional wrestling.
