Two AEW Stars Taking Time Off Following All Out

This past Saturday AEW held their All Out PPV from the NOW Arena in Chicago, Illinois. Following the event two of the company’s top stars are planning to take some time off.

The opening match of the night saw MJF defeat Daniel Garcia but it’s what happened after the match that has the fans talking.

After the match an injury angle occurred as Garcia hit MJF with a top rope piledriver just like the latter did a few weeks before All In.

According to Ibou of WrestlePurists the finish to the match was changed to MJF getting the pin due to Garcia not re-signing with the company as of this writing. The reasoning for the angle was due to MJF going to film a movie soon.

“The originally planned finish to MJF vs Daniel Garcia was a clean victory for Daniel.

AEW is under the impression that Garcia is staying, but because a deal has still not been signed, the decision was made to have MJF go over.

MJF is expected to go film a movie.”

Dave Melzter of the Wrestling Observer confirmed the news.

Former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland is also expected to take some time off after coming up short in his Lights Out Steel Cage Match against “Hangman” Adam Page.

Meltzer stated before All In that Strickland had re-sign with the company and expected to take time off.

”Him and Swerve both did injury angles and are gonna be gone for a while…

“That’s what I heard anyway. I heard a long time ago that Swerve was going to sign the contract and he was gonna get some time off for whatever reason. This was the angle.”
