In a heartfelt announcement, WWE Superstar Carlito revealed that his contract will not be renewed, marking the end of his current tenure with the company. His contract is set to expire in two weeks. Carlito shared the news on social media, expressing gratitude to WWE and its fans, and hinting at the possibility of a return in the future.

Carlito, born Carlos Colón Jr., began his wrestling career in 1999 with the World Wrestling Council (WWC), a promotion owned by his father, Carlos Colón. He quickly rose through the ranks, capturing the WWC Universal Heavyweight Championship in January 2000, becoming the youngest wrestler to hold the title.

In 2003, Carlito signed a developmental contract with WWE and debuted on the main roster in 2004. He made an immediate impact by defeating John Cena for the United States Championship in his debut match.

Throughout his WWE career, Carlito held multiple titles, including the Intercontinental Championship and the WWE Tag Team Championship.

After a hiatus, Carlito made a surprise return at WWE Backlash 2023 in Puerto Rico, assisting Bad Bunny in his match against Damian Priest. The electrifying reaction from the hometown crowd underscored his enduring popularity.

Following this appearance, Carlito re-signed with WWE, joining the Latino World Order (LWO) before turning heel and aligning with The Judgment Day faction.

Despite his departure from WWE, Carlito continues to make waves in the wrestling world. This past Saturday, he captured the WWC Puerto Rico Championship at the WWC Summer Madness event, returning to the promotion where his career began. The WWC, owned by his father, remains a significant part of his wrestling legacy.
