Former TNA X-Division and Tag Team Champion Departs TNA Wrestling

PWInsider has reported that former TNA X-Division and World Tag Team Champion Ace Austin has officially parted ways with the company. Negotiations between both sides took place, but they were ultimately unable to reach an agreement on a new deal.

Former TNA President Scott D’Amore revealed in his column, The D’Amore Drop, that while not publicly known, Ace Austin’s contract had expired.

Nothing has been said publicly, but Ace Austin’s contract with TNA has come to term.

Ace deciding to leave is amicable — he’s been there since he was barely out of his teens and he’s ready to step up. I signed him, and everything he’s shown since confirmed that Ace Austin becoming a massive star is, indeed, “inevitable.”

He’s ready for that next chapter. I think it is time Ace Austin goes all in on proving he’s one of the best.

Ace Austin signed with the company in 2019 and made his debut by defeating Jake Atlas on the March 8th edition of iMPACT!. He would go on to become a three-time X-Division Champion before joining the Bullet Club and forming the ABC (Ace and Bey Connection) tag team with fellow TNA star and Bullet Club member Chris Bey in 2022. As a team, Austin and Bey enjoyed an impressive run, capturing the TNA World Tag Team Championships three times. However, during a post–Bound For Glory iMPACT! television taping, Bey suffered a potentially career-ending neck injury, prompting Austin’s return to singles competition.

Earlier this year, he challenged current X-Division Champion Moose for the title at the Genesis pay-per-view.

Ace Austin’s final match with the company is set to air on the May 22, 2025, edition of TNA iMPACT!, where he will face Mustafa Ali.

We at LNC Wrestling wish Ace Austin the best in his future endeavors.
