MLW Fusion August 1, 2026 Preview: Big Damo Battles Mads Krule Krugger as Místico Leads FantasticaMania Trios Match

MLW Fusion continues its FantasticaMania USA presentation tonight with a show built around international competition, CONTRA Unit’s expanding war and several unanswered questions surrounding the most dangerous groups in Major League Wrestling.

Big Damo will face Mads “Krule” Krugger in a heavyweight fight created through betrayal rather than competitive rankings. Damo revealed himself as CONTRA’s newest monster when he attacked Krugger during the CONTRA Mercs’ battle with The Skyscrapers, giving Donovan Dijak, Bishop Dyer and Josh Bishop the opening they needed to steal the victory.

Tonight, Krugger finally gets his hands on the man CONTRA selected to replace and punish him.

FantasticaMania will also deliver a major six-man tag team match as Místico, El Desperado and Diego Hill face Último Guerrero, DOUKI and Austin Aries. The match brings together MLW, CMLL and NJPW while giving Aries another opportunity to force himself into the center of the show after interrupting last week’s MLW World Heavyweight Championship contract signing between Killer Kross and Satoshi Kojima.

Glasgow Boys On Top will make their presence felt when Mark Coffey and Wolfgang face Okumura and Ikuro Kwon of CONTRA Unit. LaBron Kozone will address the shocking attack on Teddy Long, while Rich Bocchini attempts to get answers from all three members of The Skyscrapers.

Tonight’s episode does not have an overloaded lineup, and that should work in its favor. MLW has three matches with completely different identities and two segments capable of advancing stories beyond the ring.

The company simply has to give everything enough time to matter.

Big Damo Battles Mads “Krule” Krugger

Big Damo did not enter MLW looking for an ordinary debut match.

He arrived as CONTRA Unit’s newest weapon and immediately attacked Mads “Krule” Krugger during the CONTRA Mercs’ match against The Skyscrapers. Krugger was removed from the fight, leaving Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows outnumbered against Dijak, Dyer and Josh Bishop.

The Skyscrapers capitalized and escaped with the victory, but their win became secondary to what Damo’s arrival revealed.

CONTRA has not forgotten Krugger’s departure.

Krugger once represented the organization’s most destructive force. He carried its flag, enforced its will and eventually became powerful enough to operate independently. CONTRA now appears determined to prove that no one abandons the organization without consequences.

Damo is the punishment.

Tonight’s match should not resemble a polished technical contest. Both men are enormous, violent and more effective when a match feels like it is barely being contained by the ring. MLW should allow them to fight around ringside, throw heavy strikes and create the impression that neither man is interested in winning through patience.

The result will determine how seriously Damo should be viewed inside CONTRA.

A decisive victory over Krugger would immediately establish him as more than the newest member of another faction. It would make him the monster CONTRA believes can replace one of the most dangerous wrestlers in MLW history.

Krugger cannot afford to become a steppingstone.

Shotzi resurrected him and aligned him with Anderson and Gallows because they needed something capable of fighting the forces gathering around them. If Damo defeats him without controversy, the entire CONTRA Mercs presentation immediately loses some of its danger.

Interference remains possible. Okumura and Ikuro Kwon will already be competing elsewhere on the show, while Anderson, Gallows and Shotzi all have reasons to prevent CONTRA from controlling the match.

However, MLW should avoid using outside involvement as an excuse to avoid the fight it advertised.

Damo and Krugger need to collide before the faction war takes over.

Místico, El Desperado and Diego Hill Face Último Guerrero, DOUKI and Austin Aries

Tonight’s six-man tag team match represents what FantasticaMania should bring to MLW Fusion.

Místico, El Desperado and Diego Hill will combine three completely different approaches against Último Guerrero, DOUKI and Austin Aries.

Místico enters as the match’s biggest lucha libre attraction. His speed, movement and connection with the audience can change the direction of a match within seconds. El Desperado brings a more aggressive and physical style, giving his team someone comfortable turning an athletic contest into a fight.

Diego Hill enters with the most to prove.

Hill is surrounded by internationally established names and will likely become the opponent targeted by Aries, Guerrero and DOUKI. That does not make him insignificant. It makes his performance one of the most important parts of the match.

Sharing the ring with Místico and El Desperado gives Hill credibility, but credibility only lasts if he looks as though he belongs beside them once the bell rings.

The opposing team has experience, violence and enough arrogance to collapse internally if things stop going according to plan.

Último Guerrero is one of lucha libre’s most accomplished veterans and should provide the physical foundation of the team. DOUKI brings unpredictability and a willingness to turn exchanges ugly. Aries will enter believing he is smarter than everyone involved.

Aries’ presence carries the most direct connection to last week’s Fusion.

He interrupted the contract signing between Killer Kross and Satoshi Kojima because he believed Kojima had been moved ahead of him in the World Heavyweight Championship picture. Instead of allowing the champion and challenger to define their match, Aries used the segment to complain about his position.

Tonight gives him another stage.

A victory would allow Aries to continue arguing that MLW cannot ignore him. A loss—especially if Aries is pinned—would expose the distance between how important he believes he is and what he has recently accomplished.

The match should avoid becoming six wrestlers waiting in separate corners for their turn to perform. FantasticaMania works when the styles collide naturally and the pace builds toward chaos rather than beginning with everyone immediately diving out of the ring.

Diego Hill scoring the deciding fall would create the strongest new direction. Aries stealing the victory would be the most predictable outcome.

Either result can work, but the finish needs to accomplish more than simply ending an entertaining exhibition.

Glasgow Boys On Top Face CONTRA Unit

Mark Coffey and Wolfgang will represent Glasgow Boys On Top against Okumura and Ikuro Kwon of CONTRA Unit.

Last week, Joe Coffey made the group’s intentions clear by targeting Southern Crown Champion Trevor Lee. Tonight, Mark and Wolfgang have an opportunity to establish the faction inside MLW’s tag team division.

That distinction matters.

Glasgow Boys On Top cannot become another group in which one member receives all the meaningful singles opportunities while the other two remain at ringside. Mark and Wolfgang have extensive experience as a team and should be presented as a legitimate threat to the MLW World Tag Team Championship.

A convincing victory over CONTRA would move them in that direction.

Okumura and Kwon cannot be dismissed as disposable opposition. CONTRA’s greatest strength has always been its ability to attack from several directions at once. Even when one member is involved in a separate rivalry, the organization continues operating as a complete system.

That makes this match part of the same conflict surrounding Damo and Krugger.

If Damo defeats Krugger and Okumura and Kwon defeat Glasgow Boys On Top, CONTRA will control a major portion of tonight’s episode. If the group begins losing, The Serpent may respond by escalating the violence beyond the announced matches.

Mark and Wolfgang should enter as the favorites.

They need the victory more because they are still establishing what Glasgow Boys On Top means in MLW. Joe has already selected Trevor Lee as his target. Mark and Wolfgang now need to select theirs.

The Skyscrapers may be waiting.

The Complete Skyscrapers Unit Finally Answers Questions

Rich Bocchini will interview Donovan Dijak, Bishop Dyer and Josh Bishop together.

MLW has spent several weeks changing the structure of The Skyscrapers without completely explaining how the new version of the group operates.

Dijak and Dyer won the MLW World Tag Team Championship together, but Dyer’s contract dispute placed the future of the team and its championships in doubt. Dijak responded by bringing Josh Bishop into the group.

Dyer then returned anyway.

The result is a three-man unit holding two championships with no clearly defined structure.

That uncertainty should be the center of tonight’s interview.

Is Josh Bishop an equal member of The Skyscrapers, a temporary replacement or an enforcer? Do Dijak and Dyer remain the recognized championship team? Can any combination of the three defend the titles? Who actually makes the decisions?

Those questions matter because The Skyscrapers are becoming larger than the tag team division.

They interrupted the Kross and Kojima contract signing, confronted Matt Riddle and remained connected to Austin Aries’ attempt to disrupt the World Championship picture. Josh Bishop then lost to Riddle after Anderson and Gallows prevented Dijak and Dyer from interfering.

The Skyscrapers can blame the defeat on the Good Brothers, but Bishop still lost.

Tonight’s interview needs to reveal whether that result created any tension inside the group or simply strengthened its desire to eliminate Riddle and the CONTRA Mercs.

Bocchini should not be allowed to conduct a calm conversation and receive several generic threats.

The Skyscrapers have become one of MLW’s most important acts. Their direction needs to be clear.

LaBron Kozone Addresses the Attack on Teddy Long

LaBron Kozone will speak after the shocking attack on Teddy Long.

Long returned to Center Stage and personally introduced Kozone as part of MLW’s future. His endorsement gave Kozone immediate importance before he had even competed in his first Fusion match.

Kozone has justified that confidence by continuing to win.

He defeated Alan Angels in his debut, survived a different challenge against Okumura and most recently defeated Andrew Everett with the Ball Game lariat. MLW has steadily presented him as a serious prospect without immediately forcing him into a championship program he has not earned.

The attack on Long changes his direction.

Kozone is no longer fighting only to continue his rise. Someone targeted the person who placed his reputation behind him, making the situation personal before MLW has even revealed every answer.

Tonight’s segment must identify what Kozone intends to do about it.

A vague promise to find whoever was responsible will not be enough. Kozone needs a target, a match or a direct confrontation that moves him beyond a series of showcase victories.

The strongest possibility is that the attack was designed to draw Kozone into MLW’s expanding faction war. CONTRA’s influence continues spreading across Fusion, while The Skyscrapers have their own history with Long and the name they currently carry.

MLW should not extend the mystery simply for the sake of having a mystery.

Long’s involvement helped introduce Kozone to the audience. The attack should now provide Kozone with his first meaningful rivalry.

Final Thoughts

Tonight’s MLW Fusion is built around groups attempting to control territory.

CONTRA Unit has unleashed Big Damo against Krugger while Okumura and Kwon face Glasgow Boys On Top. The Skyscrapers will finally attempt to explain how Dijak, Dyer and Josh Bishop operate as one unit. Aries continues forcing himself into major situations while preparing to join Último Guerrero and DOUKI against Místico, El Desperado and Diego Hill.

Even Kozone’s rise is no longer isolated from the chaos surrounding the roster.

That gives the episode a consistent identity despite the matches having completely different styles.

Damo and Krugger should provide the violence. The FantasticaMania six-man match should deliver the strongest in-ring wrestling. Glasgow Boys On Top against CONTRA should establish another team inside an increasingly crowded tag division.

The two interview segments must then provide direction.

MLW cannot continue presenting The Skyscrapers as an unanswered question forever. The company also cannot use the attack on Teddy Long as background material while Kozone returns to unrelated showcase matches.

Tonight should clarify where both stories are going.

The lineup is not filled with championship matches or artificially inflated stakes. It does not need them.

MLW already has an international showcase, a monster fight and several faction conflicts threatening to consume the promotion.

The episode will succeed if those conflicts move forward instead of merely producing more questions.
