WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque was on hand as usual for the Backlash Post Show Press Conference. During the conference Levesque was asked about the release of Drew Gulak. According to Triple H he hasn’t been released as of yet.
Both Sean Ross Sapp and Corey Brennan of Fightful Select have confirmed that Gulak’s contract expires next month and will not be resigning.
A couple months back former UFC and WWE champion Ronda Rousey made claims of sexual misconduct during a backstage altercation. This would spark an investigation into Gulak which only got worse after he made a public apology.
Fightful has also confirmed that according to multiple talent within NXT that he is a “bully” and would target his opponents minor injuries in his matches.
One talent claimed that the former No Catch Quarter Crew member purposefully re-dislocated their finger and another said he intimated the talent to say nothing about it.
Last year the former Cruiserweight Champion was reprimanded by WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels during an NXT taping for spiking his opponent in a match. The talent also noted that he would “test” them to see how they would react to his “bullying.”
Current Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes was on Busted Open Radio seven years ago and wasn’t too fond of Drew Gulak:
“There is a wrestler by the name of Drew Gulak, and I’m going to go ahead and tell you I think he sucks. He does a grizzled old vet routine, he hasn’t done anything or made any money anywhere, and he shouldn’t be doing that routine.
“He looked at me from his table, and frustrated and jealous, because there were people in line at my table – hell they might have been in line just for the pizza – says to me, ‘So that’s what you need to get over’, and he walks away in a total huff and temper tantrum.
“Since then that guy is on my list. 100%. I will regularly text Ethan Page just to tell him how much I think Drew Gulak sucks.”
