Last week it was announced that we would learn who would challenge Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Championship at Double or Nothing. This week we found out who that would be and it was none other than the returning former TNT Champion Christian Cage.
Cage was last seen on AEW TV losing the TNT Championship to his former friend, Adam Copeland in a No DQ match back in March.
This week “The Patriarchy cemented his claim of coming for the world title with a cheap shot and a killswitch on the title to Strickland.
Who will walk out of Las Vegas with the AEW World Championship?
Double or Nothing emanates from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday May 26.

I’m the quiet one until the bell rings then I’ve got takes. I live for WWE NXT and TNA, I want every promotion to succeed, and I will absolutely roast the bad decisions on sight (because someone has to). Anime taught me to respect long-term storytelling; wrestling taught me that sometimes the plan is “we panicked” and called it “unpredictable.” The Miz got me into all of this, so yeah I appreciate confidence, commitment, and the art of talking like you’re already the main event. Now I bring that same energy to the page as the main writer for Late Night Crew Wrestling because if you’re not here to be must-see and tell the truth, why are you here?!
