Fatal 4-Way United States Championship Match

Jacob Fatu (c) def. LA Knight, Damian Priest, and Drew McIntyre (17:54) to retain the men’s United States Championship.

This match was good. Everyone got their stuff in. It needed more Jacob Fatu doing Jacob Fatu things.
This sequence was cool.

PWInsider has reported that Drew McIntyre hit his head during the stage South of Heaven spot.. Triple H said at the press conference he’s fine.

Jacob Fatu won after interference by Solo Sikoa and a debuting Jeff Cobb.

After the match Jacob Fatu did not seem happy with the favors done on his behalf.

Women’s Intercontinental Championship Match

Lyra Valkyria (c) def. Becky Lynch (18:43) to retain the Women’s Intercontinental Championship.

I didn’t like this match as much as others did. I’m not a fan of Lynch’s “The Man” gimmick and WWE hasn’t done much to get me invested in Lyra Valkyria. The wrestling was mostly good, better than most women’s matches. I just wasn’t all that invested in the participants.
Lyra won with a quick roll-up.
After the match Becky attacked Lyra and locked in a Disarm Her.

Intercontinental Championship Match

Dominik Mysterio (c) def. Penta (9:17) to retain the Men’s Intercontinental Championship.

How does this match only get mine minutes but Becky vs. Lyra gets nearly twenty?

Dominik Mysterio, barring unpredictable setbacks, will have a bigger career than his Dad.

The slow divorce of Finn Balor and Judgment day continues.
Dirty Dom won due to interference by Judgment Day and El Grande Americano

Gunther def. Pat McAfee (14:07)

This was my match of the night. If you asked me to show you a recent example of professional wrestling as it should be done, this would be it.
Everything about this was great.
Gunther won when the referee stopped the match after Pat McCaffee lost consciousness.

Undisputed WWE Championship Match

John Cena (c) def. Randy Orton (27:49) to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship

If overbooked were a match, this would be it. I’m not saying it was a bad match, but I think we can all agree that three referee bumps was a bit much.
Cena won with a low blow followed by hitting Orton with the belt.
After the match Cena cut a promo about being the “last real champion,” then appeared to get overwhelmed by emotion. Is the weight of selling his soul getting to him?
