Last night’s edition of WWE NXT turned the Performance Center into a pressure cooker, as chaos, championship implications, and personal betrayals lit the fuse on the road to WWE Evolution, NXT Great American Bash, and TNA Slammiversary. With two major title matches, shocking returns, cross-brand fallout, and a high-profile backstage assault, NXT delivered a pivotal night that reshaped the summer’s biggest cards.
In the main event, Jordynne Grace outlasted Izzi Dame, Lash Legend, and Jadia Parker in a hard-fought fatal four-way to earn a shot at the NXT Women’s Championship. Now, Grace is set to collide with “The Rockstar” Jacy Jayne at Evolution in a clash that promises power, attitude, and pure intensity. The Juggernaut has wasted no time carving her path through the NXT women’s division, and her collision with Jayne could define the future of the brand’s most prestigious title.
Meanwhile, NXT Tag Team Champions Hank & Tank were viciously attacked backstage, found unconscious following what appeared to be a targeted ambush. With no culprits named and no title challengers officially announced, suspicion hangs heavy over the tag division heading into Great American Bash on Saturday, July 12.
The NXT Championship picture became even more unpredictable when NOAH’s Yoshiki Inamura answered Oba Femi’s open challenge — only to be blindsided by a returning Jasper Troy, who reminded The Ruler that their business is far from finished. Now with two contenders eyeing the throne, Oba may face a dangerous double threat heading into the Bash.
In one of the night’s most dramatic turns, Stacks defeated Tony D’Angelo to capture the vacant Heritage Cup, left open following Noam Dar’s injury over the weekend. The match — orchestrated by Luca Crusifino — took a shocking turn when Crusifino accidentally struck Tony with a metal bucket, costing him the match. After the final bell, Tony snapped, laying out Crusifino and declaring himself truly alone, the last ember of The D’Angelo Family extinguished after Stacks’ betrayal back at Stand & Deliver in April.
Elsewhere, North American Champion Ethan Page showed his true colors once again by delivering Saints’ own Roshambo to Ricky after his match concluded. That flagrant disrespect has led both men to be summoned to the principal’s office next week, with questions swirling over whether Page will finally face repercussions — or continue his reign unchecked.
And in one of the night’s most buzzworthy cross-promotional moments, TNA World Champion Trick Williams retained his title against Josh Briggs, but was left lying after a post-match ambush from Joe Hendry. As Trick recovered, High Ryze offered their support backstage — an intriguing move with TNA Slammiversary on the horizon. But can Trick trust anyone in NXT when past alliances have already cost him so much?
With Evolution, Great American Bash, and Slammiversary all inching closer, the landscape across WWE and TNA continues to evolve — and the lines between loyalty and survival grow thinner by the week.
One thing is clear: the summer of gold has arrived — and no one’s safe.
