Last night’s Friday Night SmackDown came on the heels of last week’s Backlash premium live event, as WWE continues full speed toward Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 24 and next month’s Money in the Bank. The show featured two Triple Threat Qualifying Matches for Money in the Bank, the in-ring debut of former New Japan Pro-Wrestling star Jeff Cobb—now competing in WWE under the name JC Mateo—and a major announcement granting R-Truth his ultimate dream match: a showdown with his childhood hero and current WWE Champion, John Cena. The night concluded with a wild, chaotic, and brutal WWE Women’s Championship main event.
