But the story was simple: Oba was too strong, too focused and too much for Dominik to survive.

• Oba winning with Fall From Grace gave the main event a strong finish.
• Oba calling out Brock Lesnar afterward made the win feel even bigger.

Last night’s RAW did a lot of work for Night of Champions, but WWE still has a strange issue with the event itself. The King and Queen of the Ring finals matter because the winners earn world title shots at SummerSlam. Rollins vs. Breakker inside a Steel Cage should be a strong match. The Bloodline drama has major names attached to it. All of that is good.

But the show is called Night of Champions.

That name comes with expectations. It should feel like the championships are the center of the entire card. Right now, the strongest pieces of the build are tournament matches, grudge matches and Bloodline drama. Those stories can still be good, but they do not fully solve the bigger issue. If WWE is going to use the Night of Champions name, the titles need to feel unavoidable. Some of them still feel like side pieces.

Then there is the Saudi Arabia conversation. WWE’s Saudi events always come with criticism, but the current climate makes the backlash harder to ignore. Fans can enjoy the wrestlers, the matches and the production while still questioning the optics of WWE pushing forward with another major Saudi Arabia event during a tense international moment. WWE will likely keep business moving as usual, but that does not mean the criticism disappears. It sits over the build whether the company addresses it or not.

This was the best match because it had the clearest purpose and the right result. Dominik did exactly what he needed to do as the desperate heel trying to survive, while Oba looked like a star moving toward something bigger. It was not a technical classic, but it was the most important match of the night and it delivered the strongest statement.

Best Segment: Roman Reigns Welcomes Jacob Fatu Into The Bloodline

The Bloodline segment was familiar, but it worked because Jacob Fatu gives Roman’s world a different kind of danger. Roman gifting him an Ula Fala while Jimmy and Jey looked uneasy told the whole story. The Eric André attack added shock value, but the real takeaway was simple: Roman has a new monster, and even his own family knows that is a problem.

The Vision needs a sharper identity. LA Knight needs to feel like more than a guest star in Bloodline drama. And Night of Champions needs more actual championship energy if WWE wants the name to mean something.

That is where last night’s RAW landed. It was productive, entertaining and mostly well-structured, but not without issues. WWE moved the pieces forward. Some of those pieces look great. Some still need work. With Night of Champions approaching, WWE has the talent and the stories to make the show feel big. Now it has to make the event feel worthy of its name.
