WWE Monday Night RAW June 15th, 2026 Preview: Roman Reigns Returns As Oba Femi Battles Dominik Mysterio And Chad Gable Faces Rusev

WWE Monday Night RAW returns tonight with a show that has a strong advertised card, real tournament stakes and one major question hanging over everything: is WWE going to push these stories forward, or simply keep them warm until Night of Champions? On paper, tonight has plenty to work with. Roman Reigns is back, Oba Femi faces Dominik Mysterio in the King of the Ring semifinals, IYO SKY battles Raquel Rodriguez in the Queen of the Ring semifinals, and Chad Gable steps into the ring with Rusev after last week’s heated mask angle involving Rey Mysterio and Penta. That is a solid lineup, but solid is not enough at this point. Last week’s RAW worked because it gave the audience movement. Je’Von Evans got the biggest win of his young career, Chad Gable finally turned his apology tour into action, Penta and Rey delivered the best match of the night, and Jacob Fatu made it clear that acknowledging Roman Reigns does not mean bowing down to The Usos. Tonight needs that same kind of purpose. WWE has the pieces. Now it has to stop teasing direction and actually move.

Here is everything advertised for tonight’s show

  • WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns returns
  • Oba Femi vs. AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio (King of the Ring Semifinal Match)
  • IYO SKY vs. Raquel Rodriguez (Queen of the Ring Semifinal Match)
  • Chad Gable vs. Rusev

Roman Reigns returning is the biggest hook because The Bloodline story is once again becoming the center of WWE’s main-event universe. That can be a strength or a problem depending on what WWE does with it tonight. Roman still feels like the biggest star on the show whenever he appears, and there is no denying the aura he brings. The issue is that WWE cannot just lean on aura forever. The Bloodline has been through too many versions, too many betrayals and too many interference-heavy chapters for another standard Roman promo to be enough.

The real story is Jacob Fatu. He was forced to acknowledge Roman after Tribal Combat, but WWE has been smart enough so far not to present that as full loyalty. Jacob acknowledged Roman because he had to. He did not acknowledge Jey Uso. He did not acknowledge Jimmy Uso. He did not suddenly become the family’s attack dog. That distinction is what keeps this Bloodline chapter interesting. Jacob is still dangerous, still prideful and still clearly not comfortable being treated like someone beneath The Usos.

That is where tonight’s Roman segment has to matter. If Roman simply comes out, talks about being Tribal Chief and leaves without addressing the tension, it will feel like WWE is skipping the most interesting part of its own story. Jey has been acting like Roman’s authority automatically extends through him, but Jacob has no reason to accept that. Roman beat Jacob. Jey did not. That is not a small detail. That is the entire power struggle. If WWE handles it correctly, Roman’s return can make The Bloodline feel unstable in the best way. If WWE plays it safe, it becomes another reminder that sometimes this story gets treated like it is moving forward even when it is standing still.

Oba Femi vs. Dominik Mysterio is the strongest tournament match on the RAW side because the contrast is perfect. Oba looks like a future monster champion. Dominik is the kind of heel who survives by being annoying, protected, lucky and shameless. That makes the match easy to understand before the bell even rings. The crowd wants to see Oba destroy him, and Dominik’s job is to make everyone mad enough to believe he might steal it.

Oba should win. There is no need to overcomplicate that. WWE has spent weeks making him feel like someone who did not lose momentum after falling to Brock Lesnar at Clash in Italy. That is not easy to do, but Oba still comes across like a major piece of the future. His opening segment last week worked because he stood across from Dominik and JD McDonagh and still felt like the biggest threat in the room. That is what WWE should be protecting.

The danger is overbooking. Dominik does not need to beat Oba unless WWE has a very specific reason. A cheap Dominik win could get heat, but it could also feel like WWE taking the lazy way out just to create a reaction. There is a difference between smart heel heat and making the audience feel like the wrong story is being told. Oba advancing to the finals keeps the tournament feeling serious. Dominik stealing the win only works if it leads somewhere immediately and does not make Oba look like a monster who keeps getting tripped before he reaches the next level.

The Brock Lesnar shadow is also important. WWE clearly still has unfinished business with Oba and Brock, but Brock does not need to swallow this semifinal. Oba is strong enough to stand on his own. WWE can remind people of Brock without turning every Oba segment into a waiting room for Lesnar. That is the balance tonight has to find.

IYO SKY vs. Raquel Rodriguez gives the Queen of the Ring side a needed reset after weeks of crowded Fatal 4-Ways. Those opening-round matches protected people, but they also made the tournament feel a little too mechanical. Everyone got a spot, everyone got a near fall, someone stole the finish, and WWE moved the bracket forward without making anyone look too weak. That is fine for one week. It gets old fast.

Tonight is different. IYO vs. Raquel is a clean singles match with a clear identity. IYO is the better wrestler, the better big-match performer and the more exciting tournament finalist. Raquel brings size, power and a direct physical threat, but WWE has to be careful with her presentation. She cannot just be booked as “tall and strong” forever. That gets stale when there is no deeper character movement behind it.

IYO winning feels like the stronger choice. She gives the tournament more credibility and raises the ceiling of the final. Raquel winning is not impossible, especially if WWE wants to keep her tied to the Liv Morgan/Judgment Day drama, but that route risks making the Queen of the Ring feel less like a prestigious tournament and more like another extension of faction business. WWE needs to remember that the Queen of the Ring should feel like it matters on its own. Not everything has to exist just to service someone else’s group storyline.

Chad Gable vs. Rusev might be the most important match on the show from a character standpoint. Last week, Gable finally did something that felt real. His apology tour had been walking a thin line because words only go so far in wrestling. He could apologize to Penta. He could apologize to Rey Mysterio. He could say he respected lucha libre. But until he actually put himself in harm’s way, it was all just damage control.

That changed when Rusev and Ethan Page attacked Rey and Penta after the Intercontinental Championship match. Rusev tearing off Rey’s mask gave the segment the kind of disrespect that immediately made the issue feel bigger than a regular post-match beatdown. Dragon Lee tried to help and got overwhelmed. Then Gable made the save, recovered Rey’s mask and handed it back with respect. That was the best segment of last week’s RAW because it gave Gable’s story an actual turning point.

Now WWE has to follow through. Gable cannot just get a cute redemption moment and move on. He needs to struggle. He needs to prove that this version of him is different when the match gets ugly. Rusev should not lose easily, either. He came back with a mean streak, and the mask angle gave him real heat. If Gable beats him too clean, Rusev loses bite. If Rusev destroys Gable, then the redemption story takes a hit before it can breathe. The right answer is a fight that makes Gable look tougher and Rusev look dangerous, no matter who wins.

That is what last week’s RAW did well. It did not just throw matches on the screen. It connected pieces. Penta and Rey’s match led directly to Gable’s redemption. Je’Von Evans’ win made the King of the Ring feel unpredictable. Jacob Fatu’s attitude made Roman’s return more interesting. Oba’s presence made his semifinal feel like more than just another bracket match. The show had flaws, but it had direction.

Tonight has to avoid becoming a holding-pattern episode. WWE sometimes gets too comfortable once the road to a major event is already mapped out. The company knows Night of Champions is coming. It knows the tournament finals are coming. It knows SummerSlam implications are attached. But knowing where the road ends is not the same as making the road interesting. Tonight needs actual movement. Not just staredowns. Not just interference. Not just commentary telling us something is important. The segments have to show it.

The comparison to last week’s RAW is simple: last week gave us proof. Gable proved his apology meant something. Je’Von proved he could hang in a major main event. Oba proved he was still a monster. Jacob proved his acknowledgment of Roman had limits. Tonight has to give us the next chapter, not a replay with different camera angles.

Roman’s return should make The Bloodline more dangerous and more uncomfortable. Oba vs. Dominik should make the King of the Ring feel like it has a real favorite. IYO vs. Raquel should make the Queen of the Ring feel less predictable. Gable vs. Rusev should make the mask angle feel like the beginning of a real issue, not just a one-week pop. If WWE does that, RAW can keep momentum. If it does not, the show will still look important on paper while feeling thinner once it is over.

Final Thoughts

Tonight’s RAW has enough advertised to be a strong episode, but the card alone will not carry it. Roman Reigns returning is a big deal, but it needs substance. Oba Femi should feel like a future king, not another monster waiting for WWE to decide when to fully pull the trigger. IYO SKY and Raquel Rodriguez need to make the Queen of the Ring semifinal feel like more than a bracket update. Chad Gable and Rusev need to turn last week’s disrespect into something with weight.

The good news is WWE has several stories that are working. The bad news is those same stories can become repetitive fast if the company plays them too safely. The Bloodline is interesting again because Jacob Fatu does not feel fully controlled. Gable is interesting again because his redemption finally has conflict. Oba is interesting because he feels like someone WWE could build around. The tournaments are interesting because the finals now feel close enough to matter.

Now WWE has to do the hard part: keep all of it moving.

Tonight should not be about filling time on the way to Night of Champions. It should be about making Night of Champions feel unavoidable.
